The Club has the objectives to

  • promote co-operation between financial institutions in the CIS and in EU countries and the exchange of information and know-how in the banking and financial sectors, considering the Partnership and Co-operation Agreements between the European Union and a number of CIS countries

  • facilitate the preparation of the CIS banks for the European Monetary Union and for the introduction of the Single European Currency

  • be a forum for open discussion about the rules and practices of international bank and finance business activities and formulate recommendations for the member-banks of the Club on ways to adapt

  • regularly inform the members of the Club of developments in the legislation and regulations of the member-states that may affect their international activities

  • let the specific interests of the member-banks of the Club be known to the institutions of the European Union and similar institutions in the CIS operating with regard to the connections between them and their banking and finance systems

  • regularly liase with national and international organisations furthering the Club's objectives


The Club will a chieve its objectives through organising activities such as

  • conferences, workshops, seminars on subjects of common interest in the fields of banking and finance

  • Formal and informal meetings of its members with policy makers and high-ranking representatives of the CIS and European Union and their member-countries, of European Institutions, international financial institutions and organisations, Central Banks and research institutes

  • "off-shore sessions" of its members with the aim to establish contacts with banking and industrial communities and the authorities in individual countries (including non-European countries)

  • studies, in collaboration with experts from leading research centres of the European Union and the CIS, on various subjects relating to the developments of the banking and finance sectors in the EU and CIS that are of interest to the member-banks and that may lead to recommendations to the relevant authorities of the CIS and European Union and their member countries

  • special training sessions for high-ranking bank executives from member-banks at banking and finance institutions of other member-banks

  • establishment and maintenance of a data base accessible to all its members, on subjects of common interest to the member-banks


The funding of the Club's budget is made from
  • contributionsfrom members, the amounts of which are set for every fiscal year by the General Assembly as a function of estimated funding requirements

  • payments and grants from third parties

  • contributions by members in connection with special projects
